Patch 0.2.2


So, version 0.2 has been up for 11 days now, and there were over a hundred players that let me collect some statistics and make some adjustments. This post announces the changes made in patch 0.2.2 (and changes made in patch 0.2.1 that I didn't think of sharing at the time).

Patch 0.2.2 (Oct 12 9am PST)

  • Fixed Vengeful ability. It was broken since before version 0.2, and Vengeful units did not get the attack bonus as expected.
  • Buffed following relics, based on their low usage statistics and winrate:
    • Army Order (leftmost unit now gets -2 initiative, +2 movement, instead of -1/+1)
    • Discipline Enforcer (Humans now get -2 initiative instead of -1),
    • Bigger Claws (+20 damage to Dragons instead of +10)
    • Orc Recruiter (+200% Orc units in dwellings instead of +100%)
    • Dragon Breeder (+200% Dragons in dwellings instead of +100%)
  • Gave Dragon Master boss a stronger battle effect. Players had an almost 100% winrate against this boss, it was sad. (For comparison, most other non-final bosses have ~50%).
  • Most units that have a skip turn effect will now start with it in battle. This should buff Gremlin Factory and Castle Siege bosses, among other things - beware!
  • Added a new Demon-focused encounter that utilizes Demonologist+ relic.

Patch 0.2.1 (Oct 3 ~2pm PST)

  • Fixed the battle action queue bug that "swallowed" the next unit's turn if the current stack died while attacking
  • Nerfed Necromancer (30%->20% of opponents are raised) and Necronomicon (20%->10% of opponents are raised). Both of these relics were picked way often than others, and had a higher winrate. Moreover, they mostly allowed for a single strategy and made playing between levels 2 and 5 kinda boring.
  • Changed Necronomicon Temple encounter options to make the more balanced
  • Increased the potency of army growers. They seemed too weak compared to summoning mechanic.
